SPOTLIGHT ON OUR NEW STAFF

Bernadette Dineen - Maths Intervention

What are your hobbies?

As one of the new staff members at Holy Spirit I am still finding my way around but as you would all know I am feeling very fortunate to be part of such a friendly and helpful community. I have 4 children, so I think my hobbies have been part time taxi driver and social coordinator. I have become an expert at dancing, cricket, footy, rugby, basketball, karate and I think the newest trend is about to be Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

What is your most prized possession?

My most prized possessions are my children and family. I am one of 5 and my husband is the oldest of 8 so we are very lucky to be surrounded by people and we are never lonely. I am really looking forward to the day I become a grandmother and can help out, spoil the children and then hand them back. Sounds perfect to me!

What is on your bucket list?

My bucket list is all about travel. Having so many children I missed backpacking over Europe in my younger years so I am looking forward to doing it differently in the future. My dream holiday is at least 3 months in Italy where we rent a villa and become part of the local community and then spend another 3 to 6 months traveling all over the country slowly and carefully. Dreams are so important! I really look forward to working with as many students as I can, and meeting all the parents and families at Holy Spirit.

CONFIRMATION

This weekend the Year 6 students will be making their Rite of Enrolment for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The commitment masses are Saturday the 25th March at 6pm, Sunday the 26th of March at 9am and 5pm. The 5pm mass will be in the chapel. At this mass the students will say a prayer together, that will be on the screen, and they will receive a pin to wear at school each day. This is the first part of the next step in their faith journey and we wish them all the best.
