Around The Primary

Dear Parents
We are heading to the finishing line! The last weeks with our students are always very special as we prepare to say goodbye and to celebrate the many successes throughout the year. As you would appreciate, it is a very busy time for all staff as they complete the Semester Two reports, finalise their teaching and learning programs and celebration days for the year. This week we have offered opportunities for incoming 2018 Pre Kindy, Kindy families and new Primary families to gather and get to know each other prior to starting school next year.
On Thursday our delightful Kindy children entertained a lecture theatre full of very proud parents and grandparent and on Friday morning the Pre Primary children beautifully presented the Christmas Story in the chapel. Special thanks to Deacon Peters for joining us at the liturgy and reminding us all about the true meaning of Christmas.
The sheer enjoyment the students have displayed in presenting songs, dances, plays and sharing prayers has been a joy to experience this week. A big thank you to all the staff for all the hard work they have put into preparing the students for these special liturgies and assemblies.
On Wednesday evening we hosted our annual College Presentation Evening in the St Louis Sport Centre. Congratulations to all the Primary students who received an Award/s on the night. We are very proud of your efforts and achievements.

Well done to our Primary Singers and Wanju Singers for their lovely singing on the night. We have received many compliments on their performance. Special thanks to Miss Keogh and Mr Kros for preparing the choirs so well.
Next Tuesday morning our Year 6 students have their final Primary farewell celebration. An enormous amount of work and preparation has been undertaken by staff and Year 6 parents. This event and the celebration signifies the end of the students’ Primary stage of their educational journey. We look forward celebrating all the wonderful memories created during their time in the Primary school and wish them all the very best as they venture into Secondary school.
Amidst the busyness and demands of our vocation, as a team, we continue to stay focused on the children in our care and keeping Christ at the centre of all we think, do and say. Thanks go out to those parents who make a habit of communicating to and about staff in a positive and respectful manner – in this way you are being a wonderful role model to your child. Likewise, when it comes to the new classmates of your child, please set this up for success by being positive and showing that you believe they are going to enjoy the exciting school year ahead with a new teacher and class mates.
