NEW EARLY YEARS/GRANGE COMMUNITY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND

The new Foundation to year 2 playground is now completed and being used by our students.  The playground is a community project that was successfully awarded to our school by the Fund My Neighbourhood scheme.

The playground is utilised by our students from 8.35 a.m. to 3.05 p.m. and by OSHC students from 7 a.m. to 8.35 a.m. and 3.05 p.m. to 6 p.m. during school days.

Outside of these school hours and on weekends/public holidays, Grange and local community children are welcome to use this playground, if accompanied by an adult.  Please make use of this excellent facility, accessible by the small gate situated on Jetty Street, next to the playground.

HAIR DONATION

This year on the 21st of September, my older sister and I cut our hair and donated it to be made into wigs for people who have lost their hair due to medication or illnesses. One of our close friends suffered from hair loss due to cancer and we saw what a difference wearing a wig made to their life. We started a fundraising page through Variety, a children’s charity, and raised over $1000.

Well done to Hannah and her sister Maddy, also an ex-Grange student. We are very proud of you. We have included before and after photos of the girls.

Parenting SA Seminar - 'The Secret Life of Teenage Girls'

A webcast of the presentation called 'The Secret Life of Teenage Girls' is now available online for the next four weeks.  Dr Justin Coulson, the presenter, is a parenting author, columnist and speaker.  The seminar explores: what it's like to be a girl in today's world; things girls worry about; how to support them; how to stay connected with your daughter; what this means for raising boys.

I attended the live seminar at the Adelaide Convention Center earlier this week and highly recommend it to parents and caregivers of girls and boys.  Viewing of the seminar can be accessed until Monday 10th November by visiting the link below:
