OUR FAITH

PRAYER

God our Creator,

Jesus can see the unspoken wishes of our hearts, and can heal us from what separates us from your love and care. Give us the courage to pick up out mat and walk when he asks us to.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen

We pray ...

for..... our school community as we continue to pray, give and reflect on our words and actions through the season of Lent.

LITURGY NEWS

Yesterday some of our Year 4 students had the opportunity to attend Reconciliation and Year 1 had a visit from Fr Chris.

Next Wednesday some of our Year 5 students will have the opportunity to attend Reconciliation.

Family Masses

Our next Family Mass is scheduled for Sunday 2nd April (Yr 1 and Yr 5) at St Nicholas Church at 9.30a.m.

Project Compassion Boxes

Students have been asking me what to do with their Project Compassion Boxes when they are filled. These can either be given to Mrs Dunst at school or alternately taken to St Nicholas Church and handed in at one of the masses scheduled for Holy Week.

We are aware of many local families doing it tough given the current circumstances so prayers for those in need and random acts of kindness that don't cost money can be just as good as a monetary contribution!

GREEN DAY– Caritas Fundraiser

Thank you to all those who came along to help celebrate our annual Green Day. A special thank you to all the teachers, especially the Year Six teachers and parents, for their organisation of students and individual stalls. We were particularly impressed with the Year 6 students who were outstanding on the day especially with their enthusiasm and organisation. What tremendous leadership! Of course our main objective was to raise money for CARITAS. The communities this organisation works with to assist will benefit greatly from our efforts. In 3 hours our school community managed to raise $1,645.30 This clearly demonstrates the tremendous spirit of generosity from parents and students. THANK YOU!

SACRAMENTS

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation and program will begin early in Term 2 for our students and parents in Year 3. This will include a Parent Information and Enrolment Session at St Nicholas Church on Wednesday 29th March at 5.30pm or a repeat session on Saturday 1st April at 2.00pm. At least one parent is required to attend one of these sessions. Notes and a Compass push has been sent to all eligible candidates.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS LITURGY

A whole school Stations of the Cross Liturgy will be held on Wednesday 5th April beginning at 9.30am in the school Undercroft and then moving out onto the school oval. The school will gather together to walk in Jesus’ footsteps. Staff and students will engage in prayer, singing and reflection to focus on the events of Jesus’ last hours of life on earth. Parents and friends are welcome to join us for this Liturgy.
