Principal's Report 

Dear families and friends of MPW,

We had a great turn out on Friday night for the Movie Night fundraiser. Thank you to the fundraising committee for their efforts leading up to and on the day organising and setting up the stalls. Thanks also to our parent helpers who supported the running of the stalls throughout the night and those who helped pack up at the end of the night. I have had lots of feedback from students and some parents that they really enjoyed Paddington 2. Check out some photos from the event on the Fundraising section of the newsletter.

NAPLAN

Well done to our Year 3 and 5 students for their participation in NAPLAN over the past two weeks. All we ask is for students to show what they have learnt and do their best. NAPLAN is a great tool for Schools to reflect on their strengths and challenges in teaching and learning. It is data that can help measure the impact of programs and identify goals for the future. 

Camps

I was lucky to head out with our 3/4 campers last week and be part of the first half of their camp experience at PGL Campaspe Downs. Students were having a great time during their camp activities, team building opportunities and for some maintaining a tidy cabin. We were able to see an amazing sunset on the first night and were fortunate with the weather. Thank you to Simon, our parent helper for the camp. Some photos are attached from camp.

We are busy planning our 5/6 Echuca camp for June and are hoping to have an information session prior to the end of term next week. Look out for information regarding this via Compass in the coming days.

Last week of Term 1 and start of Term 2

Next week is the last week of Term 1. School finishes at 2.30pm on Thursday 5th April. We will be holding our end of term assembly on the last day on Thursday morning, so no assembly Monday.

Please remember that Term 2 begins on Wednesday 26th April. Monday is a student free day for our Common Teacher Professional Practice Day and Tuesday is ANZAC day. I hope you have a restful school holiday period.

School Review Report and Strategic Plan

Later this week we will be communicating and posting the School Review Report and School Strategic Plan 2023-2026 documents onto the school website. The Strategic Plan was endorsed at School Council last night. We will send a Compass notification once published and available to the community.

Finally, a reminder that School Photos are on Thursday this week.
