Dear Parents/Carers, Families and College Community

We had thought last week’s Wrap-up would be the last for the term, but given the cancellation of Country Week and the other events we, have another opportunity to communicate with you.

My thanks again to everyone over the last few days with the cancellation of Country Week and COVID lock downs. As usual, staff and students have maintained a positive and flexible approach and made the best out of an unfortunate situation. Again, I would like to remind everyone that there are plenty of people in the world far worse off than us and whilst disappointing, these recent events are relatively small issues.

This week we farewell a number of staff and next term we will welcome some new faces.

Farewell to:

  • Deanne Shaw - Deanne has been a familiar and happy face around the College for the last 10 years in her kitchen and cleaning role.  Deanne is taking a well-earned break to consider her options for her next phase.
  • Charlotte Mills - Charlotte has been with us as a Residential Supervisor for three and a half years and her crafty skills will be missed.
  • Janette Wells - Janette has been a teacher with us in Semester One.  Janette will be moving to Albany.

Welcome to new faces;

  • Heidi Armstrong - is joining the Residential Supervisor crew and brings with her a range of skills.  She is also a parent of one of our students.
  • Jenny Staker - is joining us as an Agriculture Teacher, bringing excellent teaching skills and industry experience in meat sheep production.
  • Kelly Genge - belated welcome to our second Chef who is already impressing us with her skills and flexible approach.

Old faces in new roles;

  • Robert Hodgson - is joining us as a Residential Supervisor.  Rob has been a familiar face in our Dairy.

Congratulations to staff winning permanent roles;

  • Natalie Wellington - Residential Supervisor.
  • Maria Tartaglia and Prue Sheppard - Cleaning.

Finally, fingers crossed for re-opening of borders tonight.  Have a great weekend and two week break for those who have it. Take care and be kind to yourself and others.

Steve
