Seek Justice

Youth Summit.
Olivia Purnell, Lachlan Bywater, Kinia O’Brien and Ceri Ellis were chosen to represent the College at the Catholic Education Youth Summit held at Notre Dame University on Tuesday.
The theme of the day was taken from Pope Francis address to young people around the world to ‘get off the couch’ and ‘set out on new and unchartered paths’ to be a positive influence in our world today.
Students participated in a range of workshops encouraging them to think about how they can be servant leaders as modelled by Jesus.
“It was a really inspiring day, full of amazing presenters, incredible stories of faith and practical activities that helped want to serve others. It was great being able to meet other students from all over WA. The Youth Summit was a very positive experience with a strong message of hope.”

NAIDOC Week
On Wednesday, we celebrated NAIDOC week early. The day provided us with an opportunity to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and society.
Betty Garlett lead us in a Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony at 8am and we were fortunate to have the Wadumbah Aboriginal Dance group perform at our assembly.

Comfy Day
Thanks you to all of the students who participated in Comfy Day in order to Raise funds for LifeLink.
The day allowed students to bring to school comfy clothes such as ugg boots, scarves, a favorite jumper etc. and a donation in order to bring comfort to other people’s lives. All proceeds will go to Lifelink .
LifeLink was established by the Archdiocese of Perth in 1994 to provide for the ongoing financial and promotional support of agencies established or assisted by the Church. LifeLink’s agencies deliver professional services and caring support to thousands of people in need throughout Western Australia each year.
On Saturday 17 June we had a number of our students assist the Archbishop to ‘plant’ some LifeLink hearts in the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral to bring awareness to the work of LifeLink within the Archdiocese.
