Hi Everyone,

We hope that you had a great time over the holidays and you all recovered from the excitement of the AGPS Colour Explosion! What a fabulous event it was. It was so wonderful to see so many children, parents and staff have so much fun. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and raised money for the event and to those who volunteered their time to make this a huge success. We can’t wait to share with you the final total of fundraising for this event in the coming weeks.

TERM 2 activity

We have more events organised for Term 2, which include:

Altona Meadows Farmers Marker

Altona Green will be holding a stall at the 2nd May Altona Meadows farmers market where we will be selling a range of produce and items from our kitchen and garden. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Mother’s/ Special persons stall & event

We will be running a gift stall on Wednesday 5th May & Thursday 6th May. Children will be brought with their Grade to purchase gifts for their special person should they wish to. We have tried to be more environmentally conscious with our gifts this year - we have some fab gifts available. Big thank you to Gabriella Heinz & Co for all their efforts with this.

Our Mother’s / Special Person’s event will be on Friday 7th May. More details about both of these events will be sent home in the next week.

Special Lunch - Bakers Delight pizza - Thursday 13th May

Order forms for this will be sent home with each child next week. Orders will need to be returned to the office by 9am on Thursday 6th May.

***New*** - Bunnings BBQ - Saturday 5th June

We are lucky enough to have a spot at Bunnings in Altona on Saturday 5th June. Please save this date, come down and say hi and let everyone you know to come along and support us. It’s such a lovely event as we get to see so many of our community out and about. The question is though - will we be putting our onions on the top or the bottom?

School Disco - Thursday 24th June

Plans are starting to take shape for this event. We have given this event much thought and worked with David on reaching how this event will take place. We will be having it during the day this year and trying something new. Details will be sent out via Compass in the coming weeks.

Friday treats

We will be continuing to sell icy poles on a Friday for the next few weeks. We are currently working through lots of options for a warmer alternative and we will update you as progress is made.

Meetings

We recently sent a survey out via Compass to gain some feedback on when meetings are viable for those who wish to be part of Parents & Friends. Thank you to everyone who responded. Friday at 2.15pm was the most popular choice of date. Our next meeting will be on Friday 21st May at 2.15pm.
