Sport Around the Grounds

Thursday Representative Sport (Year 7 - 10)

This term saw us as a school participate in our first term of weekly PDSSSC representative sport. Unfortunately, due to the continued wet weather, the season for touch football was cut short. Our basketball teams were lucky enough to continue to play throughout the term and grew in strength each week. Both the junior and intermediate boys basketball teams narrowly missed out on the play-offs.

Congratulations to all students involved this term for their great effort and for representing St Luke’s with such great pride.

Next term, will see us participate in Soccer and Netball. Trials will take place for these teams early next term.

Swimming

A special congratulations to James Tarr and Ethan Mateo for their continued success in swimming.

This week, James competed in the NSWPSSA Swimming Championships and placed first in both the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke events. This event saw James swim against the best swimmers from all over NSW and James has now secured his spot to participate in Nationals which will be held in Brisbane later this year.

Also, earlier this week, Ethan Mateo participated in the NSWCCC Swimming Championships which brought together all NSW Catholic schools. Ethan placed third in the 200m Freestyle event and has now qualified for the NSW All School Championships which will take place in June.

A phenomenal effort by both James and Ethan!

School Cross Country Trials

A new date has been set for our school Cross Country Trials - Thursday 28/4/22.

Thank you to everyone for your patience throughout this term while we battled the wet weather and ground closures.
