2019 NASA CAMP

2019 NASA Space Science Camp

During the last week of Term 1 and the school holidays, 21 Rosehill students embarked on the experience of their lives as they headed overseas to participate in Space Camp at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Centre in the USA. Students participated in simulated Space Shuttle Missions, robotic activities, trained like astronauts and learned how to harvest and grow plants in the same way it is done in Space. Students also had the opportunity to meet two astronauts, Jon McBride and Jerry Ross and hear about their experiences beyond Earth.

In addition to Space Camp, students also toured the Everglades in search of alligators, visited Disney World and watched the Orlando Magic vs. Atlantic Hawks basketball game at Amway Centre. We were also very fortunate enough to work with an engineer who design rides at Universal Studios and learn about the aerodynamics behind skydiving at iFly.

Please go onto the school’s Instagram page (rosehillsecondarycollege) or Twitter feed (@Rosehill_SC) for more photos and videos from the camp.
