Year 7 Camp

Student Report

Hi, I’m Thinaya Sahabandu and I was one of the students who participated in the Year 7 camp. Knowing myself I’m not the person to leave my family behind, but of course from photos and information I was given about the camp, the excitement level raised beyond the bars. My parents agreed with me going as they know it would be beneficial and enjoyable for me.

So the day came, and before I knew it I was mesmerised by the sites as the driver pulled up to our camp site, it was BEAUTIFUL!!! During the three days my skills were tested in many areas. I was in group 1 and cabin 21. I participated in water rafting, mountain boarding, low ropes, high ropes, flying fox and a bush walk. My favourite activity was definitely the flying fox, the scenery was absolutely amazing.

It was one activity I wanted to do again. We also had a disco and talent show which was so much fun. For me the difference between this camp and my previous times on camp was that we had six meals a day! Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert. That’s a lot of food if you ask me!

I would really like to thank all the teachers for organising and letting us have so much fun on camp as it allowed us to get to know everyone.

Overall I think it was a success and I would definitely go again!

Kind regards

Thinaya Sahabndu
