From the Acting Principal

Principal's Report

Welcome back for Term  2!

I hope all students had the opportunity to relax, recharge and reflect on their learning.  I trust our VCE students spent some time reviewing and summarising their work from Term 1.

Our thoughts go to the victims of the terrible tragedy in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday. We have a considerable Sri Lankan community at Rosehill and paid our respects on Friday 26th April with an ANZAC day commemorative assembly in which we layed a wreath for the many victims of the Sri Lankan tragedy.

Thank you to Ms Mckay, Mr Stubbings and our Year 7 students for organising the wreaths and assisting the Year 7 students to participate and run the assembly for our school.

The start of Term 2 this year is somewhat disruptive with ANZAC day, Open day, Open night and then NAPLAN in week 4.  We look forward to reengaging with a daily routine in week 5.

Our Open Day and Open Night are an important element of our transition calendar and allows us to showcase all the wonderful programs Rosehill Secondary College has to offer.

May I take this opportunity to clarify recent information regarding school zones. The recent announcement has no impact to the way Rosehill enrols students during Grade 6 to Year 7 and has no impact for enrolments at any other year level.  Our enrolment policy remains the same.

I’d like to officially welcome back Mr Rossitto and Ms Puskaric who were on leave during Term 1.  We wish you all the best for the next 3 terms.

Regards,

Arthur Soumalias
