Fundraising and Membership
Welcome to the June 2019 edition of the newsletter for Australasian Palliative Link International (APLI).
The South Australian Indian Medical Association (SAIMA) have been friends and supporters of APLI for a number of years now. This year’s annual charity gala dinner will be held on Saturday 22 June 2019 at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide. APLI has previously been the recipient of funds from this dinner in 2013 and in 2014 SAIMA raised several thousand for APLI to support palliative care in India.
If you happen to live in South Australia and would like to support this fundraising event, tickets cost $120 for SAIMA members and $150 for non-members. The guest speaker for the evening will be Dr Louise Mahler, an expert in body language, voice and emotion – she comes very highly recommended as an inspirational and engaging speaker. To purchase tickets, please follow the link below:

You can also support our efforts by providing a raffle prize. Please contact Chris Drummond at chairman@apli.net.au if you are able to help with this.
DVDs of the documentary feature film, ‘Hippocratic’ will be for sale at $30 at the dinner. Our sincere thanks go to Mike Hill and the team at Moonshine Movies for providing these at cost so that profit from the sale of these is directed to APLI.
We will also be selling bags made from recycled saris, purchased from Rohit Memorial Trust in Vizag. The bags are made by volunteers and are very light-weight, making them perfect for carrying fruit and vegetables from the supermarket. The cost is $5 for 2 bags.
Finally, we invite you to sign up as a member in 2019 to support the work of APLI. For those of you who are already financial members, our heartfelt thanks to you. If not, we really would like to welcome more members to the APLI community.
The subscription fee for a standard annual membership is AUD $50 per annum and premium membership is $150, where $100 is channelled to support Project Hamrahi.
To join, please send an email to Davinia Seah our Secretary at info@apli.net.au and make the electronic funds transfer to BSB 063 806 and account number 1016 0981, noting your full name on the EFT description.
Best wishes and thank you for reading our newsletter.
