Special Invitation

Please see an invitation to all St Brigid's Parishioners to join Fr Paul Aguilar & St Edward's Parish:

Dear All,

On behalf of the priests of the Southern Deanery, I would like to invite you all to the Memorial Mass for Her Majesty the Queen on Friday 16th September 2022 at 6.00 pm at Mary Help of Christians Church, Parish of St Edward King and Confessor, Hillvue Road South Tamworth.  Choir members from different parishes are encouraged to assist in the singing.

May the soul of Elizabeth, our late Sovereign Lady, rest in peace.  May Mary, our Mother and Help of Christians pray for her and lead her to Her divine Son.

The Queen is dead; God save the King!

Fr Paul Aguilar, PP

Vicar Forane

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C, 18 September 2022.

Those in power and authority are as in need of our prayers as the poor and marginalised.

Reflect, today, upon your priorities in life. Are you focused on building up riches that are eternal? Or do you continually find yourself caught up in the manipulations and shrewdness that has as a goal only worldly success? Strive for that which is eternal and you will be eternally grateful.

Prayer

Lord, help me to keep my eyes on Heaven.

Help me to be one who is wise in the ways of grace, mercy and goodness.

When I am tempted to live only for this world, help me to see what is of true value and stay focused on that alone.

Jesus, I trust in You.

Amen.
