A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

National Catholic Education Conference

Last week I attended the National Catholic Education Conference in Melbourne. The theme of the conference was ‘The Future is Listening’.  The conference reminded me of the importance of listening to our students and parents. Listening shows students and adults they matter and their words are important. Listening intently is also one of the most sincere forms of respect. We will have a hope filled future if we listen to God and each other.

3 Way Student Parent Teacher Conferences

During this week and next week teachers are available to discuss your child’s progress. If you haven’t made a booking yet please log on to Compass, ring or email your child’s teacher to arrange a suitable time. It is very important for students to take ownership of their learning so during the meeting the students will be sharing work they are proud of and also setting new academic goals for Term 4.  I strongly encourage you to attend these valuable meetings.

NAPLAN

Students in Year 3 and Year 5 were given NAPLAN results today. This assessment, is a snapshot of your child’s learning and skills from early in Term 3. It is a valuable tool for us to monitor how we are moving forward as a school. If you require more information about this National assessment please talk to your child’s teacher.

Quiet Achievers Awards

Congratulations to Ayla O’Rance and Brandan Thompson for always working hard in class. I am impressed by how you follow our Living Well Learning Well framework and respect your fellow classmates in class and on the playground.

Have a safe and happy week

Pauline Long
