2019 Parent Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Approximately 30 per cent of our families will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This survey is open now and will close on Sunday 11th August. It will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September via School Council and the school newsletter.

A letter with all of the relevant information was sent home yesterday. Please contact Ms. Kate McGinty if you have any queries or questions.

Mobile Phones

Just a kind reminder about Beaufort Secondary College’s mobile phone policy. If students choose to bring their phone to school our expectation is that they will leave it at the office in the morning and pick it up after school.

Mobiles phones are not permitted to be used during class time or at recess or lunch.  Should you need to get an urgent message to your child, parents are invited to call the General Office and the message will be delivered to your child immediately.

We thank our families and students for supporting our mobile phone policy so that our students can make the most of their learning at Beaufort Secondary College.

Uniform

The temperature may be dropping but our expectations continue to rise regarding appropriate winter school uniform. Our expectations regarding an appropriate hem length on skirts and shorts still apply and we ask parents and students to ensure that hem lengths are no shorter than 5cm above the knee. Also a reminder to wear appropriate Beaufort Secondary College jackets that are wind and rain proof. We also continue to hold our expectations around hair colour and piercings. Please refer to the School Uniform Policy located in the front of our school diaries or on our website for more information.

We thank our families and students for supporting our high expectations at Beaufort Secondary College.

Child Safe Schools

The Child Safe Standards are compulsory minimum standards for all Victorian early childhood services and schools, to ensure they are well prepared to protect children from abuse and neglect. Beaufort Secondary College has many policies and procedures in place that cater for the protection, safety and wellbeing of our students.  Implementing the safe school strategies will further enhance the care and support we provide for our students.

There has always been zero tolerance of child abuse at Beaufort Secondary College and we will continue to build our good practices and implement further measures which are designed to protect all children from harm.
