Playhouse Theatre

“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day…?”

Thanks to generous sponsorship by the MTC and Sharing the Light Foundation our Year 9 students had the awesome opportunity of seeing ‘Shakespeare in Love’ at the Playhouse Theatre in Melbourne last week. The plot centres on Will Shakespeare’s ‘writer’s block’ as he attempts to write his next masterpiece. Titled ‘Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate’s Daughter’, the play soon evolves to become ‘Romeo and Juliet’ as we now know it. Amazing costumes and sets, skilled actors and a clever, comedy-filled storyline, kept us entertained for more than two hours. We were extremely fortunate to spend the afternoon in a beautiful theatre experiencing this sell-out play.
