Attendance Matters – Every Day Counts

Improving student attendance is a key focus for Rollins

Primary School following our School Strategic Review. To keep our community

informed, we will now share our attendance data with families each fortnight.

Pleasenote that this data includes students who

arrive late or leave early (unless attending an approved allied health or

medical appointment), as these missed learning minutes quickly add up.

The Department of Education identifies students with

attendance below 90% as having early attendance concerns, with this concern

increasing as the percentage falls. Missing just one day every fortnight adds

up to around four weeks of learning each year!

Regular attendance gives students the best opportunity to

succeed academically, build positive relationships and develop confidence at

school. We understand there will be times when children are genuinely too

unwell to attend, and we fully support families in keeping children home when

needed. However, we also want to work together to build resilience and a shared

understanding of when students are well enough to attend school. If your child

is finding it difficult to attend school regularly, please reach out to us so

we can work together to provide the support needed for them to thrive.

Thank you for supporting your child to attend school every

day, on time, and ready to learn. Every day really does matter!
