Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo – Melbourne Convention Centre (Jeff’s Shed)
A group of our Year 9–12 students recently attended the Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo, an exciting event designed to inspire female and gender diverse students to explore careers in trades and tech.
With over 100 exhibitors, students got hands-on with timber work, tried out VR simulators, raced in ratchet competitions, and chatted with real employers – breaking down the old stereotypes around trade careers. Even Miss Cummins and Ms Kerr rolled up their sleeves and joined the fun!
It was a fantastic, eye-opening day that sparked new ideas and possibilities for all who attended.

So You Think You Want a Job? Let's Go on Tour!
Our three “So You Think You Want a Job” classes recently hit the road for a tour of our local training partner, GOTAFE. The goal? To explore the VETDSS courses on offer and discover the wide world of career pathways available beyond the classroom.
From electrical to automotive, hairdressing to cookery, students got a firsthand look at what their future could look like and sometimes what it won’t ! And that’s the beauty of it. Whether a course sparks a passion or rules out a path, every tour, work experience, excursion, or incursion is a step closer to figuring out what’s right for each student.
After all, knowing what you don’t want is just as valuable as discovering what you do.
