Sporting News

School sport plays a vital role in developing students’ physical health, confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Through regular training and participation in events, students build skills, learn the importance of commitment, and develop positive attitudes towards physical activity and sportsmanship.
Training sessions are an essential part of school sport. They allow students to practise skills, understand rules and strategies, and prepare safely and confidently for upcoming events. We encourage all students to do some extra training, particularly for Cross Country which is under 4 weeks away!
This term is a busy and exciting one on the sporting calendar, with several key events planned:
- Year 3–6 Swimming Carnival – 18 February (Kardinia Pool)
- Year 5/6 Open Water Program – 23–27 February
- Year 3–6 Cross Country – 2 March (Elephant Walk)
- Year 1 & 2 Swimming Program – 16–20 March
- Year 3 & 4 Swimming Program – 23–27 March
These events provide valuable opportunities for students to challenge themselves, support their peers, and experience the enjoyment and pride that comes with participating in school sport—whether competing, improving personal goals, or simply having a go.
Thank you to our staff for their organisation and support of school sport, and to families for encouraging students to train, participate, and represent our school with pride throughout the term. Our juniors will have the opportunity to participate in an athletics carnival and fun run later in the year.
