Principal's Report

Welcome to 2026

Welcome to the start of a new school year. I hope all families enjoyed a restful and refreshing break and that our students are returning feeling excited, settled, and ready for the year ahead.

The beginning of a school year is always a special time. Our classrooms are full of energy, new friendships are forming, and students are reconnecting with familiar faces while getting to know their new teachers and learning spaces. It has been wonderful to see the smiles, confidence, and enthusiasm our students have already shown as they transition back into school routines.

We are excited to launch our new Quaynotes platform - we listened to feedback that the old PDF format was not easy to access on mobiles, this new platform is designed to addresses these issues. At the start of this year, each year level sent out their own individual newsletter which contained some important information for the term ahead, including key dates, learning updates, and communication tree. I have also included it here for your reference and where to go when you have specific questions or queries.

Meet and Greet sessions are taking place today (Monday) and tomorrow. We are looking forward to welcoming families in for a brief chat about their child/ren. These will be taking place in the PODS.

As part of our commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, all staff participated in Responsive Teaching in Action professional learning with Bron Ryrie Jones at Friday's Curriculum Day. This work focuses on strengthening consistent, evidence-based classroom practices that support student engagement, positive behaviour, and learning.

Responsive Teaching in Action emphasises clear expectations, predictable routines, strong relationships, and proactive strategies that help all students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. By building a shared understanding and common language across the school, this professional learning will support consistency for students while ensuring teachers can respond effectively to individual needs.

We look forward to welcoming families to our first official assembly of the year on Friday afternoon at 2:15pm.

Many thanks,

Louise Kahle
