Term 3

We love Term 3 in the library. Lots of exciting things will happen next term. We have Book Week where the winners of the Shortlisted Books are announced and we have our Book Character Parade. We look at the shortlisted books during the term. As part of the celebration of Book Week, we will have an Author visit. We also have organised a Book Fair which will take place \in Week 1 and Week 2 of next term.

Author Visit

Next term we are extremely fortunate to have the most amazing author visit our school. Kim Michelle Toft will visit us on Friday, August the 15th for the day.  Michelle is known around the world for her unique silk paintings that embody the brilliant light and shimmering colours of our amazing underwater world.

Her lifelong love of the ocean and its inhabitants has served as an inspiration to create these Illustrious masterpieces and her multi-award-winning environmental children’s books.

We are welcoming Kim back as she visited our school in 2009 and produced the beautiful silk painting in the library. We are very excited for her visit.

Book Fair

Early next term we will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair. This is a great time to purchase suitable books that are reasonably priced. The school receives a commission on books purchased and I use this to purchase more books for our library. There are lots of books that cater to all readers. Book Fair will arrive in the first week so towards the end of Week 1 and Week 2 we will have times for you to purchase books. These times will be advertised at the beginning of Week 1 in Term 3.

Book Week

On Thursday the 21st August we will hold our annual Book Fair Parade. Children can dress up as their favourite book character. They are encouraged to bring the book which the character belongs to. Our little Joey's children will join us in the parade too. So start thinking.

Reading Platforms

We have access to amazing Reading Platforms at our school. Please make use of these during the holidays.

Children also have access to Sora our Ebook Platform. Children can read books, magazines and  listen to audio book. Children will just use their Catholic Schools Chrome log in to access Sora. Search for ACEN (Australian Catholic Education Network)

Return Books each Friday

Please encourage your child to return and borrow books each Friday.
