Book Week is nearly here!
Hello Families. A little heads up that Book week celebrations are going to be held from August 24 to 27. The children are already telling me about which character they are going to dress up as and they are full of suggestions on costumes for me!! We will also find out if our favourite shortlisted book wins the Book of the Year award during book week. So much excitement and so many things to look forward to!
Keeping in line with our exploration of the shortlisted books, this week we read Bob and Dob by Sean E Avery. The book is about a little bird who gets in trouble for tattling on his brother but discovers a much better use for telling tales in this fun story with humorously expressive multimedia artwork illustrations. Needless to say, we went on to have a number of hilarious discussions on Dobbing on people after reading the story!
Kind regards and Happy Reading,
Prem
Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge - Less than a month to completion!!
We have 16 children who have finished the challenge, marvelous effort! Next week, I will provide a snapshot of how we are tracking as a school and the impressive number of books that have been read in this duration. So please watch this space!
To the parents, if you need any help at all in logging in the books on the website for your children, please reach out. It would be my pleasure to help with this task. Please kindly note that the challenge ends on Friday 4th September, 2026.
