Prayer & Catholic Identity

A Prayer for Fathers
With Father's Day approaching, we keep our dads in our thoughts and prayers and wish them all the very best for Father's Day on September 6th.
Heavenly Father,
you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers
as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom,
tenderness and patience.
Support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender.
Amen
St. Joseph the earthly father of Jesus and our school protector and guide.
Catholic Identity Awards
Emma P. and Matilda W. both received Catholic Identity awards at our week 3 assembly. Congratulations Emma and Matild for sharing the spirit of Jesus in our school.
Season of Creation
The Season of Creation begins as a day of Prayer for Creation on September 1 and runs through to the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4. Pope Francis made it official in the Catholic Church in 2015. For many years each Pope has worked to protect the environment. Pope Francis has written a special letter called Laudato Si because he cares deeply about all of God's creations.
In Foundation the students are beginning the unit Let's Celebrate Creation. In this unit students will begin to appreciate and express wonder at God’s presence throughout creation. Students will begin to understand that they have certain responsibilities to live in harmony with creation.
Action For the Week
When you face a setback this week, don't give up straight away. Pray before responding, then take one positive step forward, asking God to guide your thoughts and actions, confident in the knowledge that He wants what is best for you.
