Maths - Capacity
Last week in Maths, D3 had lots of fun exploring capacity! We learnt that capacity is how much a container can hold and explored the different ways we can describe a container – full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty.
We then put our learning into action! Using water, sand and blocks, students filled and compared containers of different shapes and sizes. We made predictions, tested our ideas and discovered that sometimes a container can hold more or less than we might expect just by looking at it!
It was a fun, hands-on way for D3 to explore capacity and put our maths thinking to the test.
