ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
On Wednesday 6 August, McKinnon Secondary College students gathered at Duncan Mackinnon athletics track for the Athletics Carnival. Students of all age groups participated in multiple events across the day representing their House in an incredible way. There were many close finishes for races and even a few records broken!
Highlights of the day included the Staff versus House Captains relay and the fashion parade. This showcased the fantastic costumes from staff and students of our iconic group's theme.
The winners of the day will be announced at the next General Assembly.
Well done to all students who participated in the day and congratulations to those who have advanced to the Kingston Division competition. It was a great celebration of the McKinnon Secondary values and spirit!

AFL 9 HERALD SUN SHIELD
Our AFL 9’s day was an outstanding success, with our school proudly represented in both the Year 8 Boys and Year 7 Girls competitions as we challenged for state final glory. While we didn’t come away with the trophy, our teams displayed an excellent standard of football and were recognised for their talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The skill, commitment, and spirit shown by our players across both divisions are a clear sign that we have a bright future ahead in AFL 9’s. With such a strong foundation, we’re confident these teams will continue to develop and push for even greater success in the years to come.
It has been a pleasure to coach and lead these teams over the past two weeks. Thank you to Miss Owen and Miss Dowsing for their added expertise on the day.
