Junior School

Our Year 7 students have made a fantastic start to their journey at Eltham High School! Commencing with the Start to School program, students participated in a range of activities designed to introduce them to the EHS community. The first few days have been filled with opportunities to build connections and better understand how the school operates.
Students who submitted an Expression of Interest for the Music Program completed their Timbre Test on their first day. Students were able to explore a range of instruments to help prepare for the Year 7 Instrumental Music Evening on Wednesday 5 February.
Volleyball try outs will run during lunch times across week two. Our volleyball Program has a number of events across the year, including some tournaments during Term 1. Specific details of the try out schedule will be announced to students at the morning assembly on Tuesday 4 February.
We will have a Clubs Expo on Monday 17 February during lunch, which will showcase the clubs on offer to students in 2025. Students will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from over 30 different clubs on offer this year. Clubs are an excellent way for students to make new connections across the school. Please stay updated on the Compass dashboard to ensure that no opportunities are missed.
As part of the Transition Program, we will be working to ensure that all students know how to navigate Compass, as well as sign into OneDrive. On Monday we supported our students to log onto their devices and connect to the school network.
Our Year 7 Transition Wellbeing afternoon will take place during week 3. This will involve taking our young people over to the Eltham Leisure Centre for a chance to participate in some of their fitness and wellbeing programs.
Please don't hesitate to contact your young person's teachers and coordinators if you have any questions or concerns about anything that is happening across the Year 7 Program.
