Take Flight - Senior School

Our Level 4 students recently enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Yakult Factory! It was a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand how Yakult is made and learn about the production process. Students loved the interactive and entertaining experience, asking questions, taking part in a taste test and, of course, enjoying a bus trip with their friends!

In Maths, we continue to build on our understanding of place value, consolidating our knowledge of tenths and hundredths. We have also been exploring equivalent fractions and making connections between our Maths learning and our Inquiry topic. Students are developing their understanding of fractions greater than one whole and learning how these can be represented using fraction models.

In English, we have been exploring information texts and looking closely at how they are structured. Students are learning to identify features such as headings, subheadings, diagrams, captions and topic-specific vocabulary, and understand how these help organise information and make it easier for the reader to understand. We also continue to focus on developing our reading fluency each day and have been impressed with the way students are working together and supporting one another during partner reading.
