The Great Year 4 Pyjama Debate! đŸ’€

It appears we have a Pyjama Revolution brewing at Lyndhurst Primary School!

Our clever students in 4A and 4E recently put their persuasive writing skills to the test, sending letters to the Principal explaining why pyjamas should become our everyday school uniform!

Their arguments included greater comfort, improved learning, easier mornings and even better NAPLAN results!

Some students were particularly persuasive, with Insith declaring "You are commanded...", Sophie insisting "You have no choice..." and Jackson demanding "fairness... justice... change!"

While pyjamas will not be replacing our school uniform, a special Pyjama Day is certainly worth exploring!

Well done, 4A and 4E! Your creativity, confidence and persuasive writing were impressive reminders that student voice matters.

Online gaming safety under the spotlight

Studies reveal how major online gaming platforms, including Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft and Steam, are (or are not) keeping kids safe online.  While most services use tools to proactively detect unlawful and harmful material, the quality and coverage of these tools differed significantly across platforms.  With around 9 in 10 Australian children aged 8 to 17 playing online games, the findings highlight the need for stronger, more consistent safeguards to help protect young people from risks such as grooming, harmful content and other serious online harms.  Please see the links provided for ways to further support safer online gaming at home.

Keeping Our School Safe and Secure

We have unfortunately received reports of footprints on our newly installed solar panels on the Main Building roof, raising concerns about unauthorised access to school property.

We ask our school community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity on school grounds to Victoria Police.

Your support in keeping our school safe and protecting our facilities is greatly appreciated.
