Prep D – A Wonderful Year of Learning and Growing! 🌟

What an incredible first year of school it has been for our Prep D students at Ironside State School! Throughout 2026, our little learners have enjoyed many exciting experiences, created special memories and celebrated important milestones together.

Some of our highlights have included our 100 Days of Prep Celebration, a wonderful visit from Japanese students where we enjoyed sharing cultures and learning from one another, our exciting Lone Pine excursion, and, most recently, our much-loved Book Week Dress-Up Day at the end of Term 3!

In Prep, we have been exploring the wonderful world of imaginative texts, developing our early reading skills, and learning how to sequence and retell familiar stories and events. Book Week provided a fantastic opportunity for students to bring their favourite book characters to life, use their imaginations and express their understanding of characters' thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Beyond these special events, it has been incredibly rewarding to see our Prep D students grow in confidence, independence, resilience and their love of learning. Every experience has helped them develop important social, emotional and academic skills that will provide a strong foundation as they prepare for Year 1 in 2027. We are so proud of everything our Prep D students have achieved and look forward to celebrating even more special moments together as we finish their very first year of school! 💛
