Teaching & Learning

What's been happening in Dream Big:
Dream Big is a weekly class that focuses on the Design and Technologies curriculum. At the start of the year, students in the senior classes explored a range of robots and were introduced to the concept of programming — learning how to give robots instructions and tell them what to do. This term, senior students have been exploring sustainable living by building boats from recycled materials and creating models of wind turbines and waterwheels.
In Primary 2, students have been developing practical skills and using a range of tools to create products during their Dream Big classes. They have followed plans to set up rail tracks, used magnetic blocks to build cars, houses and castles, created bead necklaces, and used drills to take apart and rebuild a variety of toys.
Students in Primary 1 have been exploring how plants and animals are grown and used for food, clothing and shelter. They have collected and planted seeds, investigated plants and animals that live in ponds, and engaged with a variety of books about plants and animals to support their learning.
