Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Brigid’s,
I hope you have had a wonderful week! The weather is starting to cool down so please stay warm!
What amazing athletes we have at our school. See below all the wonderful achievements our students and parents have completed or yet to be completed!
Congratulations to Zosia (Yr 2) who competes in Jiu Jitsu.
3rd Oceania Championships
2nd Regional x 2
2nd Victorian Championships

Congratulations to Eva (Yr 6) who has been invited to the Phase One Trial for Basketball Victoria’s 2026/27 Future Development Program. This program underpins State Development, State Performance and National Performance Pathways.

What an achievement, Eva — a future state basketballer in the making. We are so proud of you
Congratulations to Samantha (Jude’s mum in Yr 1) who ran the Blue Mountains Ultra Marathon on Saturday 16th May. Samantha completed an incredible 101.6km in a time of 16:37:37!
What an amazing achievement! Another proud St Brigid’s moment!!

This is what Sam said… I had a really good run! It was my first 100km event and I have another in November that hopefully Jude will be able to help crew me with his dad this time.
If anyone (children or parents) have competed in events outside of school we would love to share their news with our school community! I have heard that a group of our mums, Christina, Hayley and Amy, are very busy training for the Gold Coast Marathon and Tyson is busy training for the Berlin Marathon.

Congratulations to all our students who represented St Brigid’s at the District Cross Country Championships last Thursday. Our students gave their best and supported each other so beautifully throughout the day. Overall St Brigid’s came 7th out of the 11 schools and 1st for the handicap trophy. We couldn’t be more prouder!
A special mention to the following students who have progressed to the next level and will compete in the Division Cross Country on Wednesday 27th May:
Harper S
Harry S
Daphne F
Isla S
Good luck — everyone at St Brigid’s will be cheering you on!
Our enrolments for 2027 are closing soon. If you know of anyone who may be late to apply or may have forgotten, enrolments are still welcome. Enrolments for other year levels in 2027 are also open.
We remain very grateful to our current families and staff who continue to speak so positively about our wonderful school. This was frequently mentioned during our recent school tours and meetings with prospective families.
Enrolments for 2028 are now open and we encourage interested families to apply early.
There is currently an increase in illness throughout the community, not just within schools. It is important that children who are unwell remain at home to rest, recover and help reduce the spread of infection.
If you do choose to send your child to school because you believe they are well enough, please avoid saying, “If you feel sick, ask the school to call me and I’ll come and get you.” As you can imagine, this can quickly become their focus during the day, and often results in requests to go home.

A timely reminder now that we are midway through the term about our high expectations regarding school uniform. All students should now be wearing full winter uniform. We have noticed a number of students wearing non-uniform runners each day, as well as students wearing nail polish.
Please note:
No nail polish
Hair below shoulder length must be tied up
Only blue or black hair ties and ribbons are permitted
A simple chain with a cross necklace may be worn underneath the uniform
Only stud or sleeper earrings are permitted
Thank you for supporting us with these expectations. Taking pride in wearing the school uniform is an important part of school life and helps develop responsibility and respect.
A reminder that school fees are now due. We ask families to please ensure payments are kept up to date.
Thank you to all families who regularly pay their fees — your support is greatly appreciated and helps the school continue to operate smoothly.
Clear communication is essential for schools to run efficiently and effectively.
We communicate with families in a variety of ways, including:
Events on the calendar
nForma notes and forms
Emails
Newsletters
Please ensure you read all communications carefully, respond to forms promptly, and make note of important dates and events involving your child/ren.
Your support with this helps reduce the number of follow-up calls and enquiries through the office. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
Our Parent Social night is coming up on Friday June 19 and we would love to have a silent auction. If there is any parents who are happy to donate or know of companies that will support us we would love to hear from you. More details will be provided shortly.
We warmly invite you to our Assembly tomorrow afternoon at 2:15pm in Brigid Hall. 2A will be presenting.
Yours in partnership.
