College Captains' Report

As we reach the end of our final full term as students at this college, it's hard to escape the inevitable sadness of saying goodbye. Thankfully, our two weeks of Term 4 are packed with fun. From movie night and hide and seek on Friday of Week 1, to the dress-up days in Week 2, and even finishing our final SACs in the coming weeks, there is so much to look forward to. 

Students undertaking VCE Unit 3-4 subjects have their upcoming trial exams from September 22nd – 24th. We wish you all every success as you approach your VCE exams. The final week celebration for the Year 12s kicks off with a senior sunrise and squeezing into our primary school uniform. On Tuesday we have icon/meme day, and future self day on Wednesday, followed by bedazzled uniform on Thursday as the Year 12s take on the Year 11s in a lunchtime soccer game before our final assembly all together as the Class of 2026 on Friday.

Sports Colours Day a few days ago was a great way to finish off the term. It was amazing to see everyone wearing the colours of their favourite team and spending their life savings trying to dunk Mr Bourbon. Us Year 12s are super excited for the Colour Run on Friday, though I’m sure our excitement pales in comparison to that of the teachers who get to throw paint at the scoundrels who have been making their jobs that little bit harder for the past six years. I’m sure it comes from a place of love.

Student Wellbeing Leaders' Report

This week, on Monday, the 7th of September, BSC celebrated R U OK? Day. R U OK? Day is a national day of action in Australia dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention. On Monday, in the 3rd session, all of BSC participated in R U OK? Day activities, completing R U OK? Day-themed human bingo and discussing why chatting about mental health is so important and how checking up on friends is so meaningful. Starting a simple conversation with a loved one can seem like a minuscule task, but it can change a life. R U OK? Day reminds us to check in with family and friends, spreading kindness and compassion to those in need.

Sport Leader's Report

The other week on Thursday 3rd of October, Beaumaris Secondary College competed in the Kingston Divisional Athletics Carnival. It was a very good showing from BSC students. We have 9 students competing at South Metro Regional athletics next term. Big congratulations to Arley H and Sophie T for coming age group champions in their respective age groups. We wish the best of luck to all BSC students at regionals next term.

In other sport news at the college on Monday 13th of September, we had our annual Sports Colours Day which was a huge success. During GOAL we had several activities such as a dunk tank where students could dunk teachers into the tank being a lot of fun and a highlight of the day. This was followed by the staff v Year 12 footy match on the MPP during lunch. All money raised from the day went to a very good charity of the Fight Cancer Foundation.
