YOUNG PEOPLE OF BAYSIDE ART EXHIBITION 2026 || Congratulations to Aria A, Andrew H and Tyler B, whose artworks were selected from more than 180 entries for the Young People of Bayside Art Exhibition 2026! This annual community exhibition celebrates outstanding 2D and 3D artwork created by local young artists aged 10–25.

We were also proud to have Clementine, Vivi and Mia welcome guests with live singing at last night’s Opening Night and Awards.

MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2026 

VCE MEDIA, ARTS & DESIGN EXHIBITION – CELEBRATING ART & CREATIVITY || Join us on Thursday 8 October (6.00–8.00pm) for the 2026 MAD Exhibition, featuring a diverse collection of work from our VCE Media, Arts and Design students. A great opportunity to experience the creativity and ideas explored across these subjects.

The incredible artwork featured in this year’s promotional material is by Year 12 student Bella Hoad.

MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2026 

YEAR 12 LUNCH WITH MR BOURBON || Year 12 students in Ricketts House had the chance to enjoy lunch with Principal Mr Bourbon in the MCC Pavilion today. With the final weeks of Year 12 approaching, the lunch was a great opportunity for students to step away from their usual routine, catch up with friends and chat with Mr Bourbon. Two Houses down, with two more still to come! 

TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2026 

YEAR 7 CREATE PERFORMANCE || 7D took to the stage for their Drama PBL last week, working in pairs and small groups to interpret and perform a scripted piece. A great opportunity to develop their performance skills, creativity and confidence!

FROM WINNING ENTRY TO NEW DRONE || Last year, then-Year 8 student Mehan Pienaar achieved the highest overall score in the Junior Category of the national Tax, Super + You Competition, earning $1,000 for himself and another $1,000 for Beaumaris Secondary College.

We’re excited to share that the college’s prize money has now been put to good use, funding the purchase of a new drone for our Create Visual students to use as part of their learning.

A fantastic legacy from an outstanding achievement – with Mehan’s success now creating new opportunities for other students at BSC. Congratulations again, Mehan!

PARENT VOICES || There’s no better reflection of a school community than the experiences of the families who are part of it. We were incredibly grateful to receive these words from a BSC parent whose three daughters have each experienced their own journey through Beaumaris Secondary College.

From the relationships built with teachers and GOAL Mentors to the support of friends and the opportunities to learn, grow and succeed, it’s feedback like this that reminds us of the difference a strong school community can make.

YEAR 7 MATHS – GRIME DICE || Our Year 7 Maths students have been putting probability into practice through their Grime Dice PBL. Working collaboratively, students explored theoretical and experimental probability, using dice experiments to test their predictions and compare results.

R U OK? DAY – WELLBEING AT BEAUMARIS || Today is a reminder to ask “R U OK?”, but at Beaumaris, checking in with each other is something we do every day.

As part of our Bigger Buddy System initiative in GOAL this week, our focus was on how even small interactions with strangers, friends and family can create meaningful connections and opportunities to check in and ask, “R U OK?”

Behind our everyday approach to wellbeing is a dedicated team of people supporting our students and families. Led by Assistant Principal Sean Leith, our Wellbeing Team includes Rachel Felmingham (Wellbeing Team Leader – Mental Health Practitioner), Rosanna Giosserano (Psychologist) and Elin Kim (Counsellor). Working alongside our GOAL Mentors and staff, the team helps ensure our young people feel supported and connected.

THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2026

100K IN A SCHOOL DAY SUPPORTING CONNOR’S RUN || A fantastic effort from our school community today! Students and staff came together today to take on our 100K in a School Day challenge, completing an incredible 343 laps and 152.35km around the college oval in support of Connor’s Run and paediatric brain cancer research.

Led by our Year 12 VCE VM students, the day saw our community walking and running laps, enjoying a sausage sizzle and getting behind a great cause – with a special appearance from Bob, the Connor’s Run mascot!

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES IN ACTION || Our students have been getting active beyond the classroom this week, exploring different ways to build movement and physical activity into a healthy lifestyle.

Our Year 11 PE students headed to PicklePlay for a game of pickleball, complementing their learning about different types of physical activity and the physical activity guidelines.

Meanwhile, our Year 9 & 10 Fit for Life students put their skills to the test at the Sandringham Golf Driving Range as part of their health and wellbeing program.

DIVISIONAL ATHLETICS || A fantastic effort from our students at Divisional Athletics, with the main event held last Thursday and the relay events completed yesterday.

Congratulations to our Age Group Champions, Sophie T (12–13 Girls) and Arley H (17 Boys), on their outstanding performances.

SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2026

CONNOR’S RUN || A great effort from our students and staff who participated in Connor’s Run today, following on from our 100K in a School Day challenge on Thursday - all in support of young people affected by brain cancer. Together, our community raised an incredible $6,586, with Year 12 student Phoebe M achieving an outstanding individual fundraising total of over $2,500.

A huge thank you to everyone who ran, walked, donated and supported the cause - and congratulations to the RCD Foundation on another fantastic Connor’s Run!

MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2026 

CELEBRATING SAFELY || Our Year 12 students heard from renowned speaker and youth advocate Sonya Karras during GOAL today, as they prepare for the celebrations and increased independence that come with finishing school.

Sonya shared practical advice around safe partying, Schoolies, consent and looking out for one another, helping students make informed, respectful and responsible choices as they prepare for life beyond school.

A big thank you to Sonya for another engaging and relatable presentation, and for the way she continues to connect with our students on topics that really matter.

MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2026 

SPORTS COLOURS DAY || There was plenty of colour, competition and a BIG splash at Beaumaris today as students and staff got behind Sports Colours Day!

Students took part in a range of activities during GOAL before the fun continued at lunchtime, with plenty lining up for the chance to dunk a teacher - and even members of our Principal Team - in the dunk tank! 

The annual Year 12 vs Staff AFL 9s game also brought plenty of friendly rivalry to the MPP, with staff claiming the win!

A huge thank you to everyone who dressed up, got involved and donated. All funds raised will support the Fight Cancer Foundation.

TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 

ANCIENT ROME IN THE MAKING || Our Year 7 students are bringing Ancient Rome to life as part of their Our World PBL! Students are busy designing and building models of significant Roman sites and artefacts, which will form part of their own museum exhibition later this week. We can’t wait to see the finished creations!

TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 

STAFF TAKE THE WIN! || The annual Year 12 vs Staff AFL 9s match brought plenty of friendly rivalry to the MPP as part of Sports Colours Day yesterday. Students and staff went head-to-head in a competitive clash, but this year it was the staff who came away with the win! A great way to bring our Year 12s and staff together for a bit of friendly competition as the Class of 2026 heads towards the end of their final year.

Sports Colours Day also raised approximately $500 for the Fight Cancer Foundation - thank you to everyone who donated and got involved!

WEDNESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 2026
