On Wednesday the 2nd of August we had our Year 3-6 Athletics Carnival at Mentone Athletics Track. It was an extraordinary day filled with spirited competition and unwavering sportsmanship. Our students showcased their talents in various track events including the 100m, 200m, hurdles, 800m, and 1500m races. Selected students also competed in the 4 x 100m relay. I would like to say thank you to all the parent helpers that assisted on the day as well as the parents who came down to cheer and support! Congratulations to all the participants for their remarkable performance!

We also want to wish the best of luck to those exceptional students who will be representing Kingswood at the upcoming District Athletics on Thursday, August 31st. We know they will continue to shine brightly and make us proud.

Our Year 6 Boys and Girls Basketball teams had an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills at the District Tournament held on Monday, August 21st, at Parkdale Secondary College. Both teams exhibited their passion and teamwork, winning 2 out of 3 games in their respective pools. Although they narrowly missed the finals due to a single loss, it's worth noting that their only defeat came against the schools that eventually emerged as tournament champions.

A reminder to all families that the last day of term (Friday the 15th of September) is Footy Day, where students can dress up and support their favourite footy team or player. This year we have The AFL Footy Roadshow coming to Kingswood which will have students having fun on footy inflatable activities at Chadwick Reserve. If you would like your child to participate in this activity, please make sure to go onto Compass Events and pay and consent by the due date (14th of September).
