Yr 10 Marketplace Day

For the last term, students in Year 10 have been preparing a range of stalls that will be selling edible items, experiential activities such a photo booth, tarot card readings, video game playing experiences, and more.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR STUDENTS IN YEAR 10:

On Friday, 24th October students in year 10 will be setting up for Marketplace during recess and period 3 instead of attending their regularly scheduled classes.

Period 4 and lunchtime will be spent running their stall and calculating their gross profit and net income for their stall.  Once this has been calculated, in the following Connect session students can then determine their reimbursement for all outlay costs for their stall.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR STUDENTS IN YEAR 7, 8, 9 and 11:

This has been a large project and will see every student in the school able to participate in our Marketplace by buying food or products at the stalls or participating in the other various activities.

All purchases are made using a token system where $1 is equal to 1 token.

Most items & activities will cost between 1 and 4 tokens each.

Please note, stalls are not able to accept any payment method other than tokens.

Tokens are now available for purchase via Compass until Wednesday 22nd of October.

We have set the default number of tokens to $10 per student.  If you wish to purchase less or more than this amount, please contact the school and we can adjust the amount on this event to the minimum amount of $5 or up to $20 in $5 increments.  The maximum number of tokens you can purchase per student is $20.

Please note it is not compulsory to purchase tokens.

We will have a small number of tokens available for purchase on the day but to ensure that students are not disappointed and can participate, pre-purchasing is important. Any purchases made in advance via Compass will be delivered to students on Friday prior to period 4.

Tokens are only valid at the Marketplace, and any unspent tokens cannot be refunded so please ensure that students are encouraged to spend all the tokens that they buy.

All proceeds will be donated to a charity determined by our Year 10 student cohort.
