YEAR 9 MONEY MARKETS REPORT

The Year 9 Money Markets classes, led by Mrs Watt and Mr Venter, recently hosted a successful Market Day, giving students the opportunity to put their business skills into practice.

In the weeks leading up to the event, students worked in groups to develop their stall ideas, create budgets, calculate pricing and plan how they would attract customers. On the day, the school community was treated to a wide range of food options, including chips and gravy, nuggets, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, dim sims, ice cream treats and more.

It was fantastic to see students take ownership of their stalls, engage with customers and experience the challenges and rewards of running a small business. The day provided a practical and enjoyable way for students to apply the concepts they have been learning in class, particularly around budgeting, profit, marketing and entrepreneurship.

Most importantly, the event was held to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Thanks to the support of students and staff, the two classes combined to raise an outstanding $744.00, with all proceeds being donated to support MND research and awareness. A big thank you to everyone who supported the event, and congratulations to the students for their hard work in making the day such a success.
