Paisley Campus News

Dear Families,
Over the past couple of weeks, our Year 10 and Year 11 students have completed their Semester 1 examinations. We are incredibly proud of the way students approached this important period, with Year Level Coordinators particularly impressed by their preparation, focus and organisation throughout the exam period.
All students have now commenced semester 2, with Year 10 students commencing their new elective subjects and Year 11 students beginning Unit 2 studies. Over the coming weeks, all students will begin the subject selection process for 2027 and will meet with members of our Pathways Team early in Term 3 to discuss and finalise their programs.
Year 12 students completed the General Achievement Test (GAT) last Tuesday and are now commencing their final units of work as they prepare for end of year examinations in October.
Staffing update
This week we will farewell Corinne Kilpatrick, Emma Fan & Katia Krpo who are taking up other opportunities Semester 2. I would like to thank each of them for their work at the college and their support of all students over the past year.
In Semester 2, we will welcome Sarah Hardiman back from leave, Bradley Fay who will be taking over Visual Communication & Design classes at Paisley & Elizabeth Cullen who will be teaching junior humanities and Year 11 business across Paisley & Williamstown campuses.
Year 12 English Writing Workshops
Over the past few weeks, all Year 12 students have participated in writing workshops led by writing specialist Hayley Harrison. These sessions focused on developing students' text analysis skills, with particular attention given to common challenges encountered in Section A of the English exam.
Students engaged with worked examples, explored how key writing techniques align with assessment criteria, and had opportunities to practise and reflect on their own writing. Through this process, students identified individual areas for growth and developed strategies to strengthen their skills as they prepared for the mid-year exam and continue their learning throughout Unit 4.
Year 12 Recharge Day
Following the mid-year English, EAL and English Language examinations, all Year 12 students enjoyed a well-deserved Recharge afternoon. Students enjoyed a shared lunch alongside staff before students spent the afternoon at Holey Moley in Point Cook.
Recharge Day is a valued SRC initiative that has been running for several years and plays an important role in fostering connection, wellbeing and a strong sense of community within the Year 12 cohort. We extend our sincere thanks to the staff and families who generously contributed food and support to make the day such a success.
VCE Information Evening
Year 10 families are warmly invited to attend our VCE Information Evening on Wednesday 24 June, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Paisley Library.
This session will provide valuable information about the VCE and VCE-VM pathways, subject selection processes, and key considerations as students begin planning their senior secondary studies for 2027. We encourage families to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the options available.
Year 10 Work Experience
Year 10 Work Experience will take place during Term 3, Week 2 (20–24 July). This valuable program provides students with an opportunity to explore potential career pathways, develop workplace skills and gain firsthand experience in an industry of interest.
For families who are still finalising paperwork, we kindly ask that all documentation be completed and submitted as soon as possible. If you have any questions or require assistance in securing a placement, our Pathways Team is available to provide support.
