Well the winter rain has certainly arrived! Last week the freezing conditions and rain all day kept us out of the garden; however, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits in the kitchen. We have been busy making vegetarian sausage rolls, pumpkin soup, hummus, beetroot tzatziki, bread rolls, scrolls and winter salad. These recipes introduced us to lots of delicious flavours and new taste sensations.

Last week we also planted some new herbs into the raised garden beds. We are hoping to grow plenty of coriander, thyme, sage and flat-leaf parsley so that, if you ever need some fresh herbs for dinner, you are very welcome to take some. There is also an abundance of mint growing in the garden next to the music portables, so please help yourself to some fresh minty goodness whenever you need it.

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers who have helped 3/4N in the kitchen each week. Over the last fortnight we have welcomed Amanda (Chloe’s mum), Roshni (Ciara’s mum), and Enis and Samantha (Oliver’s dad and mum). Your support and assistance are always greatly appreciated.

3/4N only has one more week remaining before 3/4BM begins on 28th May. Please let me know if you are available to help with either of these classes.

Happy cooking!
