Peer Mentoring Program

Our Year 10 Peer Mentoring Program has launched with great momentum following two engaging training workshops facilitated by LifeChanger. One was held at Maroondah Youth Centre at the end of last term, and a second onsite during the first week of Term 2.

We were also fortunate to have Sarah Cullen from Maroondah Youth Services, who led a workshop exploring character strengths and personal development.

These sessions have prepared a dedicated group of Year 10 students who have volunteered to mentor our Year 7 cohort over the coming two terms. Through small-group activities, mentors will focus on building connection and belonging, strengthening social skills, and encouraging help-seeking behaviours.

Throughout the training, students developed an understanding of adolescent psychology, practised responding to real-life scenarios, and explored what it means to be a positive role model within the school community. The program provides a valuable opportunity for students to grow as leaders while contributing to a supportive and inclusive school environment.

This week, our mentors met their mentees for the first time. We look forward to seeing these relationships develop and the positive impact this program will have across our school community!
