Author Visit

On Tuesday the 4th August we had local author Stef Gemmill come and meet with our book club to discuss her process for writing her new release middle fiction novel The Ghost Horse of Snowy River. 

Students learnt a lot about what it takes to get a novel written, from the character profile planning to the immersive research that takes place to be able to write and describe the scenery the story takes place in, the smells, the sights how it feels.

We are so grateful to Stef for being a big supporter of our library and donating her time to visit with students.

Shadow Judging

Shadow Judging has officially finished for 2026 and our vote cast. The official shadow judging book of the year winner will be announced on 21st August along with the CBCA book of the year announcement. 

Our book club had a great time reading all 6 shortlisted books for the older readers category, meeting fortnightly to discuss and rate the books as we went, with the final vote landing on Unhallowed Halls by Lili Wilkinson.
