Headspace Presentation
As our Year 12 students prepare for their upcoming exams, we were grateful to welcome Mia from headspace Armstrong Creek to deliver a session on managing stress during exam time.
Mia shared practical strategies to help students recognise stress, build healthy coping skills, and prioritise their wellbeing during this important stage of the year. Mia also empowered students to understand when to seek support and how to access the free, confidential services available through headspace.
A big thank you to Mia and the team at headspace Armstrong Creek for supporting the wellbeing of our students and helping them feel more confident and prepared as they head into their exams.
Year 11 PE
Year 11 PE had an incursion on Tuesday 11th August at the Wurdi Baier Stadium.
Students have been learning about coaching this term and the ways in which coaches modify task constraints to suit participants ability and skills.
Students observed a walking basketball game (offered to residents in our community over 55 years old) which modifies the standard basketball game to adapt to the older generation.
Rules such as no jumping (or jump ball), no running, lowered rings, smaller basketball were some of the rules implemented.
Afterwards, the program coordinators invited us to play a game. Students found the no running and jumping rule difficult to adhere to.
Year 10 Science
Year 10 science students were exploring Newton’s first law with a quick hands on experiment. Students created their playdough passenger on a small trolley and tested what happened in a range of scenarios down a ramp.
A nice reminder to buckle up!

Sound Healing
One of our amazing ES staff members Katrina Ball recently led a sound healing session with one of our Year 8 classes.
A wonderful opportunity for the students to pause, reset and experience a different approach to wellbeing!
Year 12 VET Sport & Rec
Year 12 VET Sport and Recreation students visited Bounce to look at hazards, risks and controls to prepare for their upcoming SAC on Work Health and Safety.
They used the hierarchy of control to determine the best application of control measures. Fortunately, their learning allowed them to also have some fun on the trampolines and put their risk assessment into action!
