Sydenham Campus Term 3, September 2026
Thank you to all students and staff for the wonderful term we have had on the Sydenham Campus.
“School of Rock- a triumphant run!”
What an outstanding performance the students put on for School Production week-three entertaining evening shows and a highly engaging and spectacular matinee for neighbouring primary schools.
School productions take a lot of work, and many hours were put into rehearsals, running lines, costume fittings, choreography and backstage logistics. A special thank you to all the students who worked so hard to make the shows a memorable part of our year.
Thank you to Ms Taylor Van Orsouw, our Performing Arts Leader and for the support she received from Ms Kellie Phan, Mr Stephen Scanlin, Mr Jamie Canning, Ms Ana Cacovska, Mr Joseph Concepcion and Mr Aiden Arandez. Thank you also to all staff who supported by supervising students during the performances.
We were very proud to see and hear students showcasing their learning through their Student Led Presentations (SLPs).
SLPs are always a great celebration of student achievements, discussions on academic and social growth and an opportunity to reflect on the last 3 terms.
Students displayed thoughtful and engaging presentations, which included goals and objectives for the rest of the year and beyond.
Thank you to staff who have supported and encouraged students to complete their SLPs and to families for their attendance and participation.
This term we welcomed Christina Grozdanovski to the campus as a new member of our well being team. Christina is an alumna – class of 2013
Christina is a registered counsellor with ACA, has a background in case management and has worked in the TAFE sector. Christina joins Bayley and Elle to support students on the Sydenham campus.
The Wellbeing team ran an extremely successful day for Year 10 students a few weeks ago. The day gave students the opportunity to participate in a range of activities relating to healthy minds and bodies.
My Career Insights – Supporting Our Year 9 Students to Explore Their Future
Our Year 9 students at Copperfield College – Sydenham Campus have recently completed an important stage of their career education journey through the My Career Insights program.
On Monday 20 July, students completed their Morrisby Profiling, an interactive online assessment designed to help students better understand their aptitudes, interests, personality and career goals. The profile provides students with personalised insights into their strengths and introduces them to career areas and pathways they may wish to explore further.
Following the profiling stage, during Week 6 beginning Monday 17 August, students participated in their individual Morrisby Unpacking Interviews with a Morrisby-trained Careers Consultant. These 30-minute conversations provided students with an opportunity to unpack their results, discuss their strengths and abilities, and explore potential career options in greater depth.
While Year 9 marks the beginning of this process, students' Morrisby profiles are designed to remain useful throughout their schooling and beyond. Students have lifelong access to their profile, meaning they can continue to update it as their interests, experiences and career aspirations develop.
As students progress into Year 10, families can support this exploration by discussing their child's profile, looking through their favourite careers and considering how their strengths may connect with future subjects, work experience and senior secondary pathways.
Morrisby also continues to be a valuable resource into Years 11 and 12. Students can revisit their profile, update their aspirations and interests, investigate post-school options and use the Planner to research pathways and important prerequisites.
We congratulate our Year 9 Sydenham students on their engagement throughout both the profiling and unpacking stages. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by asking students what they learnt about themselves, what career possibilities interested them, and how their strengths might help shape their future choices.
The Morrisby Profile is not intended to tell students what they should do, but rather to be one of the tools that helps them make informed and confident decisions as their career journey develops.

Our student leaders joined campus teaching staff last week to discuss Attitudes to School (ATOSS) survey data.
We are very proud of this process, which we engage in every year. Students speak from their perspectives about the data and staff take on feedback and together we come up with ideas and strategies to improve and/or maintain positive results.
This year’s Parliamentary Convention was a fantastic opportunity for our students to represent the College and engage in some meaningful discussion around the topic “Immigration - Helpful or Burden?” A huge thank you to everyone across all three campuses who helped make the day such a success, from supporting with organisation and supervision to helping everything run smoothly.
A special mention must go to Trisha and Trish, who spoke in front of the convention and represented the College brilliantly. The feedback from students was extremely positive, and they should be proud of the way they participated, behaved and represented the College throughout the day. It was a genuinely worthwhile experience, and we’re already looking forward to being involved again next year.

Parent/Carer Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
