Brian Robinson - Ilan Garland

The Grade 5 and 6 students continued their studies into Indigenous artists and learned about Torres Strait Islander artist Brian Robinson who combines realism and fantasy to create linocut prints. I was very impressed with how quickly the students took to this new skill of linocut printing, they designed their prints based on the flowers in our front garden, carved them into the lino using ‘U’ and ‘V’ tools and chose the ink to print onto their coloured paper. Outstanding effort from the Grade 5 and 6’s on these prints:
