School Council President Report

As we move towards the end of Term One, it is a great time to reflect on the progress our community is making. Following our recent School Council meeting and the presentation of the school’s Annual Report this past Wednesday, I am pleased to share some key updates that highlight the strong position our school is in.

Empowering our Student Leaders

One of the most rewarding aspects of our recent meeting was receiving our first report for the year from the Junior School Council (JSC). It is fantastic to see our students so deeply involved in the life of the school. The level of thought and the creative ideas they are bringing forward to benefit their peers and the school environment are truly impressive. It’s a wonderful reminder that our students are active partners in making our school a better place, and Council is eager to see these initiatives take shape.

Reflections on our Annual Report

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to our leadership team for their comprehensive presentation of the Annual Report on Wednesday evening. It was fantastic to see the data confirming that the school is tracking exceptionally well and to have a clear picture of the work happening behind the scenes to support student learning and wellbeing.

To the parents who were able to join us for the presentation, thank you for your time and your interest in the governance and future direction of our school. It is this shared commitment that keeps our community strong.

School Holiday Program Update

Following the announcement that LeapKids are no longer providing a school holiday program, School Council recently met to discuss the future of this service. Guided by previous survey feedback from our families expressing a clear need for this resource, Council is in full agreement that we wish to continue offering this service to ensure our families have access to high-quality care during the breaks.

I can confirm that Council has agreed to go to tender to secure a new school holiday program provider. Our objective is to have a new partner in place in time for the Term 2, winter school holidays. We understand how important this service is for our working families and will keep the community updated as the tender process progresses.
