Students are encouraged to bring their library bags in on Wednesday or Thursday (depending on their borrowing day) to have a chance at winning the funky fruit reward for the week. Week 6 winner was Olive (Year 6) who won "Herman the Honeydew Melon" and the Week 7 winner of "Wally the Watermelon" was Harlan (Year 3).

The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) runs until 18 September 2026. We have just had the technical kinks ironed out by the PRC team to grant St Mary's access to this year's challenge. I will be letting students know all about the challenge during lessons this week and I will be distributing login details to the classroom teachers.
If for whatever reason you are unable to log your child's books at home, please ask your child to ask me for a paper copy and I will log them at school.
Challenge levels are outlined below:

This week in library lessons we have been celebrating Harmony Week (Monday 16 - Sunday 22 March 2026). Harmony Week is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Students have really enjoyed sharing their experiences and perspectives during Harmony Week, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for each other.

Borrowing will occur during library lessons to give the students more focused time to engage with library borrowing. Students must have a library bag with them on borrowing days.
Please refer to the list below to see which day your child/ren will need to bring their library bags and return any books that are due in order to borrow new books.

The catalogue for Issue 2 of the Scholastic Book Club has been sent home with students. Orders will close Thursday 26 March 2026.
