Principal's Message

A flying start to Our Journey!

Term 1 has been a great success! Today we celebrated student achievement and in this newsletter I’d like to reflect on what has been such a positive start to our year of Our Journey, Our Future.

At our school, we talk about students being pilots, not passengers—Pilots of the Learning; taking an active role in their learning and in school life.

Let me share some highlights through four key areas that show how our students have already begun to take the controls.

Kindy

Our youngest learners have made an incredible start to school. Starting school is a big milestone—and we’ve seen our Kindergarten students begin to take their first steps as pilots of their own learning.

They are settling into routines, building friendships, and growing in confidence and independence every day.

Community

A strong school journey relies on strong partnerships. This term, our community events, BBQs, expos, open afternoons and parent-teacher Learning Conversations... have all helped strengthen those connections between home and school.

When we work together, we create the conditions for our students to confidently take flight in their learning.

Curriculum

In every classroom, meaningful and engaging learning has been taking place. Our focus is on developing students who are not just completing tasks, but thinking deeply, asking questions, and taking ownership of their learning.

This is what it means to be a pilot—actively engaged, making decisions, and understanding where their learning is taking them.

We want Learning that Matters, in every classroom.

Contribution

Our students have not just been along for the ride—they’ve been actively contributing to our school community.

From our newly inducted student leaders, to students representing the school at sporting events and excursions, to those who contribute positively in their classrooms each day—we are seeing students step up, take responsibility, and help shape a positive school culture.

This is student agency in action—students truly being pilots, not passengers.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students have started the year.

Thank you to our staff for their dedication, and to our families for your ongoing support.

Together, we are building a school where every child is supported to take the controls of their learning journey.

We look forward to continuing this journey together in Term 2.
