Responsible Use of Digital Technology at School

This fortnight, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is on showing respectful and responsible behaviour when using digital technology at school. Technology plays an important role in our learning, but it’s essential that we use devices and online resources wisely, safely, and respectfully to make sure everyone benefits from a positive learning environment.

Why is this important?

When digital technology is misused—such as using devices for games during class time, sharing inappropriate content, or distracting others—it can disrupt learning and affect the safety and wellbeing of everyone. Responsible use helps teachers and staff provide high-quality lessons, keeps our school community safe, and shows respect for our shared resources.

Let’s all work together by:

  • Using digital devices only for learning and schoolwork during class time
  • Being respectful and kind in all online interactions and communications
  • Protecting your privacy and the privacy of others; never share personal information without permission eg: passwords and usernames
  • Reporting any problems or inappropriate content to a teacher straight away
  • Following the school's responsible use policy for technology and internet access
  • Limiting device use during breaks, and focusing instead on socialising and being active

Let’s all do the right thing and help make our school a safer, smarter place for learning and growing together!
