Sacrament of Reconciliation
Congratulations to the students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last week. This was a special step in their faith journey as they continue to grow in their relationship with God.
We congratulate Arthur, Ryan, Harry, Bella, Chloe, Emiliana and Samantha and keep them in our prayers.
Family Mass at St Luke's - Saturday 13th June @ 5pm
St Luke’s is excited to begin a regular Family Mass at our usual Saturday 5pm Mass, with the hope that every second Saturday will become a special opportunity for families to gather, pray and build community.
Families are warmly invited to join us as we sing hymns taught by Fr Alex, celebrate Mass together and enjoy a light supper afterwards.
We would love children and families to be involved in the readings, Prayers of the Faithful and offertory procession. Our first Family Mass will be held on Saturday 13 June at 5pm. If your family would like to be part of the Mass, or added to a volunteer list for future Family Masses, please see Nina Grieve at school or contact her via email: ngrieve@slblackburnsth.catholic.edu.au
We would love to see many of our St Luke’s families there as we come together to celebrate and build community.
St Luke's Mini Vinnies
On Friday the 29th of May, a selection of positive and kindhearted students arrived at a very special mass, the Mini Vinnies commissioning mass. All the Mini Vinnies received a special badge to represent leadership, empathy and the right to make a difference in our community. In addition, we also recited a pledge and prayer to say we will never cease to help those in need.
As a part of Mini Vinnies, we are called to follow in Jesus’s footsteps and be like blessed Frédéric Ozanam, the founder of St. Vincent de Paul.
After the mass we had a morning tea in the discovery centre providing lots of delicious food and drink. This was one of our opportunities to reach out to others and serve with kindness and care. As Mini Vinnies we promise to care and protect those in need of help around our school, community and the wider world. It may not seem that much but a little bit of kindness can go a long way and we are determined to make a big difference together in 2026!
This year's members are:
Maddie, Ilaria, Lachlan, Louis, Alexandra, Poppy, Eliza, Dylan, Vannnesa, Olivia,
Maria, Hannah, Mila, Sarah, Chiara, Issy, Ava, Georgia, Tilly, Janessa, Ria, Georgia and Stella.

Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Mass
Families are warmly invited to join us for our whole school Mass celebrating the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday 12 June at 9:15am.
This special feast reminds us of Jesus’ great love for us and calls us to share that love through kindness and compassion for others.
Alpha
Our parish is currently running weekly Alpha sessions, providing an opportunity for people to explore faith, life and meaning in a welcoming setting. Our staff have also been participating in Alpha, facilitated by Nina Grieve and Fr Alex, beginning last year and continuing this year. We have now completed six sessions, with the program to be completed by the end of the year.
