Principals Report

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,
On Wednesday, we held our Learning Conversations evening, a wonderful opportunity for parents, teachers and students to connect and discuss student progress. These evenings are invaluable, as they provide a platform for sharing insights that go beyond what is captured in Semester Reports. While reports are essential in providing a snapshot of academic performance, they don't always capture the full picture of a student's progress. The learning conversations allow teachers to share the nuances of each student's development, including areas where they have shown significant improvement and aspects that may need further attention.
Through these conversations, parents gain a deeper understanding of their child's strengths and areas for growth. It also allows for a collaborative approach in setting goals and developing strategies to support each student's learning journey.
We appreciate our parents' active participation and our teachers' dedication to making these nights successful. Together, we are committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive. Thank you to all who attended. We look forward to continuing our partnership to support our students' success.
Winter Wellness Reminder
A gentle reminder that we’ve reached that time of term when winter illnesses tend to take hold. Both students and staff are more susceptible to colds, flu, and other seasonal bugs during this period. We kindly ask families to remain vigilant and to keep children at home if they are showing clear signs of being unwell. This helps us maintain a healthy environment for everyone and supports the wellbeing of our entire school community. Thank you for your continued care and cooperation.
St Mary’s Final Trivia Night – The Last Dance
We are excited to bring back our wonderful MC for one final St Mary’s Trivia Night! This year’s event will be a very special one, as we host our last ever trivia night, fittingly titled “The Last Dance.” The theme for the evening is Movie or TV Characters, so start planning your costumes and get ready for a great night of fun, laughter and community spirit.
The event will take place on Friday, July 31st, at the Town Hall. We are once again partnering with Black Wallaby Wines, who will be offering wine tasting on the night and selling their award-winning products throughout the evening.
Our fantastic MC will also be bringing along a range of official AFL/Music and Sporting memorabilia, which will go to auction. He receives this stock directly from the AFL at a discounted price, which allows our school to make a profit from the sales.
We would like each family to have first priority in booking a table before the community snaps up the seats, as this event will sell out quickly. Teams can be made up of approximately 6-10 people. If anyone is able to donate prizes for the night, please let me know, as this would greatly help reduce our costs.
Please see the flyer in the School News section of this newsletter for more details and make sure you save the date with your friends and family.
All profits will go towards student celebrations and excursions.
Kind Regards,
